Meteora: Hermit Caves Sunset Hiking Experience
Our takeAnastasia Antonova, editor · choice 2 of 4 in Hiking

At 3 hours, this is the shortest trip in the main list. Your mountain guide takes up to 12 walkers from Kastraki to the hermit caves and hill viewpoints. You finish back at the village meeting point.

Choose this if you want the shorter of our two sunset cave trips. You'll need to get to Kastraki yourself. The walk starts and ends at the Visit Meteora office in the village. Hotel transfers are excluded.

An English-speaking mountain guide leads the walk past hermit caves and up the hills. The views take in the rock formations and monasteries. Bottled water and tour fees are included.

No monastery interiors are part of the route. You'll need moderate fitness for the uphill walking. Choose a morning monastery hike if going inside matters more.
